a moment in glass•unique glass art

Creating with glass is an experience with light, and an exchange of color, shadows, brilliance and sometimes unexpected mystery in every piece. I seek to capture the way light moves, transforms and remains.

My journey as a fused glass artist began with glass sheets of color and the quiet heat of the kiln, but it deepened when I began working under the guidance of a master glass artist Narcissus Quagliata. That mentorship, along with the wisdom and generosity of a vibrant community of glassmakers, expanded my understanding of the medium and my willingness to experiment and transform the glass.

I now work with a variety of glass forms: sheet, frit, stringer, powder, and found pieces, each with its own voice, each teaching me something new about transparency, texture, and depth. My most recent explorations focus on a painterly technique that layers and blends colors to evoke the fluid, expressive strokes of a brush, yet rendered entirely in glass  to create unique fused glass art, objects and glass jewelry.

In that tension between fragility and heat, between control and the unexpected, I’ve found my passion. My hope is to invite others to see light in ways they hadn’t before and to feel its energy and its quiet beauty.
